Pictured is a 12 ton, 460V portable air conditioner rental unit located outside a dock area of a manufacturing facility. The white ducts are delivering cool air to the building interior production area where machinery is producing large amounts of heat. Located in Cook County, IL during the summer of 2024, this is a typical cooling rental application for equipment that generates too much heat, which is compounded by hot outdoor conditions. Sometimes the building RTU cannot keep up with the cooling demand during the peak of summer. Therefore, supplemental cooling is required for the people as well as production equipment. Unit power cord connections with quick connect camlocks are carefully routed from the transportable outdoor AC unit to a properly fused power source inside the building.
